Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, nationality or educational background. Kamal Dhillon is a sought-after public speaker, workshop facilitator and award-winning author. She has dedicated her life, despite the chronic pain from her own abuse to assist individuals and communities to recognize and prevent domestic violence and bullying.

Through her tireless efforts in Vancouver & the Lower Mainland, Kamal speaks to bring change and hope, in universities, women’s groups, TV, radio, conferences and regularly at the Justice Institute of BC.  Thousands have been impacted resulting in greater understanding and empathy for victims of violence through Kamal’s own story of 12 years of abuse. Her goal is to stop all violence against women by equipping all to recognize, empathize and act. Kamal deserves this prestigious recognition for her selfless efforts to give a voice to those who have no voice.
